Nicholas Hesselgrave, CMHCi

Nick is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern currently completing his Master’s Degree at Utah Valley University, where he also earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. As part of his graduate training, he works under licensed supervision to provide therapy to clients navigating a wide range of life challenges. Nick strives to create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore who they are and what they need—at whatever pace feels right for them.

Before beginning graduate school, Nick worked with children and adolescents, many of whom were neurodivergent or had learning disabilities. That experience helped shape his commitment to supporting people from all walks of life, and he remains especially interested in helping clients feel understood, respected, and empowered in their personal growth. He welcomes individuals facing anxiety, low self-worth, identity concerns, or life transitions, among many other experiences.

Nick’s therapeutic work is grounded in person-centered, existential, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic theories. He values emotional insight, relational depth, and authentic connection, and he approaches each session with curiosity and compassion. His perspective emphasizes the importance of exploring patterns, understanding inner experiences, and fostering a stronger sense of self.

Originally from California, Nick now lives in Utah. Outside of the therapy room, he enjoys exercising, reading, writing, and spending time with his family. He brings the same thoughtfulness and curiosity to his work as a counselor, and he considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s complexity and change.
