Summer Simmons, LMFT

Summer Simmons, LMFT completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from Utah Valley University in 2020. She continued her education there to earn a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2023. Summer uses several evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Summer has special training in working with couples using Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She has also received specific training in Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Summer enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families using an attachment-based, trauma-informed lens. She especially enjoys working with individuals presenting with anxiety, trauma and PTSD, faith transitions/crises, and relationship issues.
Outside of the therapy room, Summer enjoys spending time with her family. She loves having game nights with friends and admits to being slightly too competitive! Summer especially enjoys being outside in the warmer months of the year, and takes every opportunity to play pickleball or explore new hiking trails with her partner. After swearing she would “never” own plants, she has recently taken on the challenge of keeping a few plants alive. Summer currently has an 10 year old chihuahua named Cooper and is still trying to convince her partner that getting another puppy would be a great addition to the family!
