Derra Gullickson, Psy.D.

Derra Gullickson, Psy.D. (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychological assessments. She graduated in 2018 from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois with a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology after completing her pre- and post-doctoral internship at Wasatch Behavioral Health in Provo, Utah. She has also worked as an adjunct professor at Salt Lake Community College. Prior to graduate school in Chicago, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Minnesota, Morris, in Morris, Minnesota in 2012.

Dr. Gullickson’s assessment experiences primarily include Autism and ADHD evaluations, but also include a wide range of referral questions from trauma or anxiety to personality disorders, mood disorders, or psychosis. The power psychological assessment has to provide people with direction when they were previously lost is beyond moving. Though there is utility in directly answering a specific question (e.g., “Do I have ADHD?” [or other mental health condition]), Dr. Gullickson is passionate about comprehensively investigating strengths and challenges to help her clients uncover, “If not ADHD, then what am I dealing with?” She finds it the most gratifying when she can help people more deeply understand themselves and improve their quality of life by providing them with fresh ideas that are specifically tailored to their values and strengths.

Dr. Gullickson has a long history of working with individuals across the lifespan in residential facilities, community behavioral health centers, psychiatric hospitals, private practice, and wilderness settings. While providing therapy was rewarding, Dr. Gullickson uncovered her passion in psychological assessment, a therapeutic tool to help people comprehensively understand their strengths, challenges, and guide their individual or family therapy treatment plan.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Gullickson works full-time at Wasatch Behavioral Health providing psychological assessments and supervision to psychologists-in-training. She also works as a contracted psychologist for Clearview Psychological Services providing psychological assessments to adolescents and adults in wilderness and residential treatment settings.

To keep herself feeling her best, and to provide her clients with the greatest service, Dr. Gullickson prioritizes moving her body and seeing what she is capable of in a CrossFit gym. She finds no better way to start her day than to push herself amongst her fitness peers, continually challenging herself and those around her to be their best selves. She thoroughly enjoys hiking and camping, and sharing the views with her nieces and nephew (who live out of state) over FaceTime. She loves cooking and trying new recipes, laying in the sun, crafting, and tending to her plant-children.
