Sara Terry, CMHCi

Sara Terry earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and holds associate degrees in Family and Behavioral Science and Early Childhood Education. She is currently working toward her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Prescott College. Sara believes individuals are the experts of their own lived experience and approaches therapy from a client-centered, strength-based perspective. She utilizes an integrative existential and humanistic framework, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and play therapy to meet each client's unique needs.

Sara is passionate about working with children ages 6 and older, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of clinical concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, postpartum depression and miscarriage, life transitions, faith-related concerns, relationship dynamics, complex trauma, ADHD, and addiction. She believes that meaningful change occurs through an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, where clients can explore suffering, create meaning, and develop insight and skills to navigate life's challenges with greater self-compassion and grace. Sara values movement toward self-actualization, long-term transformation, and improved quality of life through a culturally responsive and multicultural lens.

Outside of the therapy office, Sara enjoys spending time with her three teenage sons and close friends. She loves watching scary movies, dancing, hiking, paddleboarding, and getting her nails done. A fan of Halloween, pumpkins, dark humor, and psychological thrillers, Sara views learning as a lifelong pursuit and finds fulfillment in personal growth, education, and meaningful connection. She is deeply curious about others' worldviews and is committed to understanding how each client's background and experiences have shaped who they are today.
