Nicholas Christensen, ACMHC

If you feel stuck in the same patterns - whether in your relationships, emotions, or sense of self - you're not alone. Many people find themselves repeating cycles they don't fully understand or know how to change. Nick Christensen helps adolescents, adults, and couples make sense of these patterns and develop more effective, fulfilling ways of living and relating.

Nick is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor who provides individual counseling and couples therapy for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, and identity development. While he works as a generalist, he has developed focused expertise in Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and attachment-based approaches.

His clinical work includes supporting clients with personality disorders, ADHD, autism, and other neurodevelopmental differences. He helps clients better understand how their brains, emotions, and early experiences shape their current challenges - while building practical skills to improve emotional regulation, communication, and relationships.

Nick's approach is integrative and tailored to each individual. He draws from Schema Therapy to address deeply rooted patterns, DBT to strengthen coping and emotional regulation skills, and attachment-focused work to improve relationship dynamics. Whether working with individuals or couples, he emphasizes insight paired with actionable change.

He believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful progress. Clients often experience his style as collaborative, direct, and compassionate - balancing support with honest feedback to help create lasting change.

Nick is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly engages in advanced training and consultation in schema therapy, DBT, attachment work, personality disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. His goal is to provide therapy that is both evidence-based and deeply personalized.
