Nicholas Hesselgrave, ACMHC

Nick is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works with adults navigating a wide range of emotional, relational, and psychological challenges. He strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore who they are and what they need, at whatever pace feels right for them. Nick believes therapy works best when clients feel genuinely understood and respected.

Before entering the counseling field, Nick worked with children and adolescents, many of whom were neurodivergent or had learning disabilities. That experience helped shape his interest in supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, and related experiences, and he remains especially mindful of the ways people adapt to environments that may not fully understand them. While he works with adults experiencing many different concerns, he has particular experience working with OCD, anxiety, identity concerns, low self-worth, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm.

Nick’s therapeutic approach is primarily integrative and psychodynamic, with influences from CBT and ACT. He values emotional insight, relational depth, and authentic connection, while also incorporating practical tools when helpful. His perspective emphasizes exploring patterns, understanding inner experiences, and developing a stronger and more compassionate sense of self. For OCD treatment, he utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Originally from California, Nick now lives in Utah. Outside of the therapy room, he enjoys exercising, reading, writing, and spending time with his family. He brings the same thoughtfulness and curiosity to his work as a counselor, and he considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s complexity and change.
